The Kathy Summers Art Scholarship

THE KATHY SUMMERS ART SCHOLARSHIPWaterloo Watercolor Group has been asked to award one or more scholarships annually to a beginning artist in the watercolor medium.  The family of Kathy Summers, a dedicated artist, teacher, and former President of Waterloo Watercolor Group, established this memorial fund in her honor.  Kathy’s lifelong goal was to teach others the joy and discipline of watercolor painting.  An annual money gift amount (to be determined by the current WWG committee) is to be awarded to a non-professional watercolor artist* or artists who are interested in pursuing additional education in this field. It is not necessary to be a member of WWG. The instruction is not limited to participation in one of our two annual workshops. All scholarship money awarded will go directly to the educator or group, not the recipient winner.

*non Professional watercolor artist: One who is NOT selling their watercolor artwork online, in a Gallery, or teaching watercolor methods. “Selling” does not include selling paintings  in juried shows.

Please use this application to be considered as a scholarship recipient. You must be over age 16 to apply and be able to attend the event.
