How We Function
WWG holds two general membership meeting a year that are open to all members. At these meetings business is conducted with members voteing followed by a presentation. The general meetings are generally held in January and in the fall. Guests may attend but may not vote.
The board members are the governing authority of WWG and govern according to the terms of the by-laws. The board members meet at the discretion of the president's schedule.

Our History |
Over coffee at the old Nighthawk Restaurant in Austin, Texas in August, 1977, Harold Eichenbaum, Gordon Fowler, Bill Rider and Windy Winn developed the idea of a watercolor artists' group with no officers, no bylaws, no rules, or expensive dues. They decided to call the group "Waterloo Watercolor Group," and drafted Murray Joyce to be the first newsletter editor, treasurer and only officer. Among the interested artists who organized and began meeting at Gordon Fowler's Chili Factory on August 30, 1977 were: Dorothy Billman, Alayne Carter, Harold Eichenbaum, Gordon Fowler, Murray Joyce, Maude Folmar Ramsey, Avis Rider, Bill Rider, Charlie Shaw, and Windy Winn.
Today, WWG has grown from a small group of 15 charter members to a large number of enthusiastic water media artists with the purpose of promoting and educating the practice and appreciation of all water media art as a significant and creative permanent medium. Any person interested in painting with water media becomes a member upon the payment of annual dues. Active members have full voting rights and are eligible to serve as officers of the board upon election. Leslie Kjellstrand, President
